I want to like them way more than I do, but they waste their time on crap that would be boring to the average viewer and frustrating for people that want the story to pick up the pace. I would estimate that 80% of episodes from S3-5 are ones you can skip over and miss nothing, and this is the same problem I have with Adventure Time in its later seasons- it's sad and funny at the same time how much SU and AT mirror each other. However, these brilliant ideas went to waste since a majority of S3-5 are flatout useless. I was even onboard with the story direction S2 was taking with the addition of Peridot to the cast, and the introduction of the Diamonds. ![]() S1-2 were pretty fun, all things considered, and I do have my memories of watching 1A and enjoying it- it was a fun monster-of-the-week show with quirky and funny characters, and did pulled off its dramatic moments rather well. I used to think every season sucked, with S4-5 being on an entirely different level, and only half of that is true nowadays. TTLF'S NOTE ON : Y'know, at the very, very end of this review, there lies some notes I wrote back in 2020, 2021, and even this year as a way to show what changed in my scorecard, and as a way to show how I went from hating SU with all my heart to being indifferent towards it. Btw, that entire black slice can be blamed on S4-5. Although it isn't as bad as my 2nd version of this scorecard made it out to be, it's still a pretty not-good series, but I think this third and potentially final version of the scorecard showcases my thoughts better than anything else. ![]() So we're doing take two, and lol we have a lot of shit to tear into. I decided to redo this scorecard from scratch because my initial review of this series, while I do stand by it, it got a bit overly personal and barely scratched the surface of the problems this series suffers from.
